António Portela

António Portela has been CEO of BIAL since 2011, representing the fourth generation of the family to lead the Portuguese pharmaceutical company. He holds a degree in Economics from the University of Porto and an Executive MBA from Porto Business School, and began his career at Roche in the United Kingdom before joining BIAL. Throughout his time at the company he has been closely involved in internationalisation, innovation and the growth of a Portuguese group with a strong commitment to research and development.
